Hi! I’m Hannah Francis, coordinator and owner of Bird Nest Events. I absolutely love weddings and events that are as unique as the individuals we’re celebrating! I cannot wait to help you create exactly that for yourself as well.
I have quite the variety when it comes to my background. I went to St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA, where I studied and received by Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science. During my time in college, I was involved in many organizations on campus – and what do you know, typically found myself planning or organizing various events. I immediately moved on to graduate school and obtained my Masters of Science in Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University in Normal, IL. During graduate school, I realized I had a real desire to move back home to Peoria, IL – which I eventually did. Currently, I work full time in specialty insurance for the multifamily industry as Manager of Operations. I find myself striving to maintain all of the details of our business, but let’s be real that isn’t nearly as gratifying as helping someone have their dream wedding.
I was a bride in 2020 myself, and I was able to experience exactly what it means to have your wedding day be the happiest and best day of your life. I know how hectic planning can be, but I pride myself in being able to remain calm and handle the moving pieces with a true understanding of how they impact each other in order to be sure everything is in the right place at the right time.
I have a strong desire to help everyone have the best day possible, but not just the event – you should honestly enjoy the entire planning process. Every single detail should be perfect, just like you!
When I’m not working or planning weddings and other events, you can find me hanging out with my husband and our two fur babies. If it’s warm – you can bet we may be on our front porch enjoying the weather. Otherwise – we’re likely doing a project around the house, kayaking, at the gun range, drinking whiskey and/or wine, or just chilling on our couch together. That is if I can catch his attention from his woodworking or motorcycle! I think it’s fairly obvious that we have a lot of hobbies around here.
Thanks for learning a little bit about me – I can’t wait to chat!
